A poster created for Gallery 1988’s collaboration with the Los Angeles Public Library celebrating their 150th Anniversary. The image was inspired by The Shadow of the Wind by the late Carlos Ruiz Zafón. This book had been on my want to read list for nearly a decade and I am glad I waited. Within the first 10 pages I knew that I was going to make a poster for this show, inspired by the book. It was an easy decision given it’s rich descriptions and the clear fact that it was written for book lovers. The timing also felt right, given the fact that we are once again in a climate where people think that banning books is an acceptable practice.
